Jude Pinto - Principal / Founder, JPintoAdvisory Inc.

Jude has been part of the Canadian and Caribbean Financial Services industry for the past 30+ years. He has played senior executive leadership roles in a variety of Retail and Commercial Banking, Payments, Insurance, Technology, Operations and Finance areas. 

Jude has led transformation strategies and programs around industry utility evolution, process and technology driven automation, service and customer experience excellence, digital banking, acquisitions and divestitures, new market entries, strategic cost management, business line optimization and technology modernization.  

The evolving Canadian payments landscape has resulted in this being an increasing area of focus for Jude: 

• Having run operations and technology for all forms of payments – commercial and retail – in both Canada and the Caribbean, including introducing major platform changes and entering new jurisdictions (EFT, wires, cheques, remittance, cards, EMT).
• As President of INTRIA, he was focused on a B2B business that was evolving with Payments Modernization through new Payments as a Service business models ($250 mm in revenue).  Readying for Payments Canada’s RTR infrastructure was a significant driver of this evolution.
• Jude serves on Creative Destruction Labs as a mentor in their Blockchain domain, working with start-ups who are continuously innovating in the Payments space (among other blockchain opportunities) globally.
• JPintoAdvisory Services Inc. engagement profile has been weighted on payments through fintechs, existing payments suppliers and government agencies directly in this space.

In addition, Jude has led several other functional areas covering Retail Distribution and Product Strategy, Innovation, Insurance, Finance, Operational Risk and Compliance. He also spent five years with CIBC FirstCaribbean as CIO and Managing Director - Technology, Operations & Corporate Services. These roles heavily focused on business and business unit development, growth and optimization as well as technology led transformation.  

Jude has a Master of Business Administration degree from the Rotman School of Business, he is a Certified Management Accountant/Chartered Professional Accountant, and has an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Currently, through JPintoAdvisory Inc., Jude and his strategic partners continue to find ways to enable successful transformation and industry level improvement - through industry structure and technology evolution, automation, digitization, operations excellence, agility, resilience and leveraging of fintech, service and product innovation.

Jude has continued to serve on a number of public, private, and advisory boards. He is also a Mentor with Rotman’s LEADS Program and a Strategic Advisor with Creative Destruction Labs Blockchain incubator.
